Heard Jessica’s review on the radio this AM and couldn’t agree more. Visually spectacular (Horse puppets and video projections) but kind of a dull a predictable story: “boy meets horse, boy loves horse, boy loses horse etc).” It started as a children’s story and still feels like that. If it weren’t for all the violence (it is a war story after all), it would be something for the kids. As it is, it’s more for the men. The music isn’t particularly interesting or memorable either, but that’s really not the point. As indicated in the attached interview “it’s all about the horses ” -and worth it for them alone, but it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Lynn.
